Private homeowners can arrange an assessment, design and quote directly. This is often the fastest pathway for families planning ahead or combining accessibility with a broader renovation.
NDIS home modifications
The NDIS describes home modifications as custom built changes that help a participant access and use areas of their home. The NDIS may require evidence, an occupational therapist assessment and itemised quoting, especially for complex modifications.
Support at Home modifications
The Australian Government Support at Home program includes a separate Assistive Technology and Home Modifications scheme for eligible older people with assessed needs.
Insurance and rehabilitation projects
Insurance funded work generally follows an approved scope and may require communication with case managers, therapists and other professionals.
